Our 7th Annual Multi-Stake production of Rob Gardner's “Lamb of God" will be presented on March 18 & 25.  This is a beautiful piece of music that powerfully testifies of Jesus Christ and I believe you will find peace and strength in your challenges as you make the sacrifice to attend rehearsals and as we unite together in telling this important story.

Our production features a 35-piece orchestra, soloists and 80 voice choir, with video projections.

Singers must register to reserve their spot as participation is on a first come basis beginning on January 1st. All are welcome to join us but the choir is limited by space to 20 people per section. Musical experience is helpful but not required- I believe the Spirit of this music will help strengthen your offering and overcome any weaknesses you may feel as you join your voices with us.

This program is sponsored by stakes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Many of the performers are members of the church but it is not required to be a member to participate.  All who love Jesus Christ are welcome to join us in singing this powerful work.

If you are new this year, you will want to spend some extra time reviewing the music and preparing. I highly recommend the purchase of Rob Gardner’s production with the London Symphony for getting better acquainted with this piece. Available from Spire Music or iTunes and other online sources.

The rehearsal schedule is below and you will note that it is a concise rehearsal schedule for a large work like this. We ask everyone to be at every rehearsal they possibly can.  If this is your first year, you may require some additional rehearsal on your own so that you feel comfortable with the music and can allow the spirit to sing with you. I understand that life happens and that there may be a conflict. I only ask that you try to minimize these where possible and do outside rehearsal if your schedule requires you to miss rehearsal. Since we will likely have a waiting list, please consider your participation carefully if you will be missing more than one rehearsal.

Thirteen vocal soloists, two narrators and a cello soloist are also part of this production. Auditions for vocal soloists and narrators will be held on Wednesday, January 31st from 7-8:30pm at the Tacoma South Stake Center. Please prepare to sing a hymn or sacred solo for this audition. Potential narrators will read from the script.

I am eager to share this powerful piece with you and look forward to seeing you at our first rehearsal on February 3.

Sincerely,
Erin Guinup

UPDATE on January 14th:
Alto and soprano sections are full, 4 bass spots and 9 tenor spots remain. Women are encouraged to audition for solos on January 31st or signup to be placed on the waiting list.  Women we cannot accommodate for performances are welcome to still join us for rehearsals.
